What we do

Han Kjøbenhavn’s approach is centred around transparency and accountability, with commitments to meet selected UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with time-bound, measurable, and science-based strategies.

Social and environmental responsibility in Han Kjøbenhavn is an integrated part of doing business and not standalone initiatives.

POLICIES

Han Kjøbenhavn has established policies and a code of conduct around gender equality and sustainability, which have already been signed by our suppliers and partners, to enforce inclusivity and equality in our own operations and across our supply chain. These are but a first step to guaranteeing respect and protection to those in a vulnerable position and ensuring that we engage in responsible consumption and production.

MATERIALS & SUPPLIERS

Although a significant part of the cotton used today is organic, by the end of 2022, GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certified cotton will be predominant in our collections. Beyond cotton, we are currently collaborating with third parties to certify and introduce responsible, recycled, and upcycled materials. This also includes packaging.

Today more than 70% of our production is located in Europe reducing international transport and adhering to some of the strictest environmental regulations and compliance to human and workers' rights. For our partners outside of Europe we apply the same standards.

CARBON FOOTPRINT

By the end of the year, we will publish a first estimate of the CO2e emission for the year 2022. We will use this baseline to set the target for the reduction of carbon emissions in our operations and first-tier suppliers. This will be but the first step to account for a cradle-to-grave life cycle assessment of our main garments.

OUR COMMITMENT
